Minister for Agriculture Fisheries & Forestry awards Kimberley Timber Corporation with NIDP
The highly competitive New Industries Development Programme (NIDP) Pilot Commercialisation Project grant was awarded to Kimberley Timber Corporation by the Hon Peter McGauran MP, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry on the 1st June 2007.
The NIDP is a key part of the Government's investment in Australia's rural industries and communities. Its aim is to assist businesses in the agricultural, processed food, fisheries and forestry industries to investigate innovative business ideas and opportunities, build on them, and turn them into competitive, profitable and sustainable commercial ventures.
KTC will be the first Australian company to establish local and export markets for Australian plantation grown African Mahogany. This internationally recognised and sought after timber variety will open the door to premium Australian plantation tropical timbers on the global market and help stem the flow of imported timbers to Australia.
